Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct an internal audit of a documented program.This unit is applicable to plant managers, Quality Assurance (QA) personnel, managers and marketing personnel who have a role in scheduling, preparing for and conducting an internal audit in a meat processing plant. The scope of the audit may include operational areas such as food safety, workplace health and safety, vendor and environmental programs. This may include industry standards and codes.Work in this unit must be carried out to comply with the appropriate Australian Standard.All work should be carried out to comply with workplace requirements. This unit applies to individuals who take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of others’ work within known parameters. They provide and communicate solutions to a range of predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.This unit must be delivered and assessed in the context of Australian meat industry standards and regulations.No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements are known to apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Competency must be demonstrated while conducting an internal audit of an operating meat processing enterprise. All evidence must be collected in the context of current Australian meat industry standards and regulations. As a minimum, the following three forms of assessment must be used: quiz of underpinning knowledge workplace demonstration workplace referee or third-party report of performance over time Assessors must satisfy current standards for RTOs. |
